Amazon Lightsail and WordPress

This is my first post on an Amazon Lightsail WordPress deployment. Amazon Lightsail is the Amazon AWS service that simplifies application development in the cloud or website creation and deployment. Providing a fixed cost solution on AWS infrastructure. For me this was the perfect fit. I already use other AWS infrastructure and I am learning about cloud technologies on AWS. So it made sense for me to build my website on AWS as well.

WordPress, to me, is a complicated beast. Having a Lightsail instance already configured with WordPress was perfect for my needs. Setting up Lightsail is easy, simply follow  Get started with Lightsail  and you can get started as well. To setup WordPress follow this link.

January 1, 2020 – UPDATE

Over the holidays I was notified that the instance on which the Coderprocess website was running, failed. The site was down for a few days, but at least I was not replacing hardware, etc. I was busy over the holidays, so today was the first opportunity to restart the instance. The instance came right back up with no issues. I’m sure this is exactly how other web hosting services work, but I wanted to share this experience so that you realize hardware fails. I would rather have someone else worry about fixing it, what about you?

2020 is the year for me to get serious about posting. Let’s see what that means….
